The Nature Center sits atop a sandstone mesa and provides an incredible view of the canyonlands and prairies of the Texas Panhandle. The area supports over 300 bird species, and watching them soar through the sky is mesmerizing.
The Centre offers guided hikes and tours that are a great way to learn about the diverse flora and fauna of this area. I particularly enjoyed discovering all the different species of plants, insects, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds living in this unique part of the world.
The best part of my visit to Wildcat Bluff was getting a chance to participate in their educational programs. These programs allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the history and ecology of the nature center through hands-on activities like wildlife tracking and pond exploration.

This museum is the perfect spot to explore and learn about the city's history. The museum offers a variety of exhibits that bring to life Amarillo's amazing past and present. The main attraction is the Frontier Texas! exhibit, which tells the story of the city's 19th century settlers who changed the course of history for Amarillo. The exhibit features interactive displays, vintage artifacts, and more, making it a great way to step back in time and learn about some of Amarillo's most important figures.
I was also impressed by all the other permanent exhibits that are available, such as Texas Trailblazers, which focuses on women pioneers from our state; and Legends of Amarillo, which highlights some of our city's most influential figures. Each one brings something unique to the table and helps you understand our city even better.

The Big Texan Steak Ranch is another popular destination along Amarillo Route66.
